Montagne de Bueren

The Montagne de Bueren is a public staircase of 374 steps in Liège, built in 1881 to climb from the Hors-Château district up the hillside towards the Citadel. Its average gradient is close to 30 percent. It is named after Vincent de Bueren, who led the 600 Franchimontois against Charles the Bold in 1468, and its landings look out over the city.
