Skissernas Museum is Lund University's museum of sketches, models and competition entries for public art, founded in 1934 by the art historian Ragnar Josephson and opened in 1941. Its collection of more than 30,000 works includes studies by Isaac Grünewald, Henri Matisse, Diego Rivera and Henry Moore, shown partly in a rust-red extension by Johan Celsing from 2005.

Kulturen is an open-air museum and museum of cultural history covering two blocks in central Lund, run by an association founded in 1882 and opened in 1892. Houses from the Middle Ages to the 1930s, among them the wooden Bosebo church of 1652, stand along gardens and cobbled lanes, and around twenty exhibitions range from folk art to modern design.

The Lund University Main Building was designed by Helgo Zettervall, built from 1874 and inaugurated by King Oscar II in 1882. Its pale classical facade carries columns, the inscription Regia Academia Carolina and sphinxes on the roof, and it faces a fountain on Universitetsplatsen at the north end of Lundagård; it is a working university building, seen from outside.

The Historical Museum at Lund University was founded in 1805 and stands on Krafts torg, just behind Lund Cathedral. Its halls show archaeology from Scania from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages, the Hunnestad rune stone monument, medieval church art and an ethnographic collection, drawn from about 11 million objects that include the finds from Uppåkra.

Lundagård is the tree-lined park at the heart of Lund, between Lund Cathedral to the south and the university's Main Building to the north. It takes its name from the archbishop's 12th-century fortress, was laid out in 1745 by Carl Hårleman, and is ringed by Kungshuset of 1584, the student union's AF Borgen and the Historical Museum.

Lund Botanical Garden is Lund University's garden, founded in 1690 and moved in 1862 to its present site on Östra Vallgatan, east of the centre. Its 8 hectares hold about 7,000 species of plants, with greenhouses for several climate zones, lawns and old trees, and the garden is a protected historic site.

Lund Cathedral is a Romanesque sandstone church whose main altar was consecrated in 1145, when Lund was Danish and the seat of the archbishop for the Nordic countries. Inside stands an astronomical clock from about 1425 with moving figures, and the crypt below the choir holds the stone figures known as the giant Finn and his wife.
