Valley of the Queens

The Valley of the Queens is a burial ground on Luxor's west bank where queens, princes and princesses of the 18th to 20th Dynasties were buried between about 1550 and 1130 BC. More than 90 tombs are known in the main wadi. Among them is the painted tomb of Nefertari, wife of Ramesses II, found in 1904 by Ernesto Schiaparelli.
