Medinet Habu

Medinet Habu is the mortuary temple of Ramesses III on Luxor's west bank, built in the 12th century BC inside a walled enclosure entered through a gatehouse modelled on a Syrian fortress. Its pylons and walls carry deeply cut reliefs of the king's wars, including battles against the Sea Peoples, and some ceilings keep their original colour.
