Deering Estate

The Deering Estate is the former winter home of industrialist Charles Deering on Biscayne Bay in Palmetto Bay, south of Miami. Its 444 acres hold two historic houses shown as museums, the Richmond Cottage (1896) and the Stone House (1922), together with eight native ecosystems where more than 170 bird species have been recorded.
