About Miami
Miami lies on Biscayne Bay in south Florida, with art museums and parks downtown, Coral Gables to the south-west and the Everglades to the west. Downtown, the Pérez Art Museum Miami and Bayfront Park face the bay near the Adrienne Arsht Center and the Freedom Tower, which housed the Cuban Refugee Center from 1962 to 1974. Vizcaya, James Deering's 1916 villa, stands in Coconut Grove. Coral Gables has the Venetian Pool and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The Cape Florida Light stands at the tip of Key Biscayne; further out are Zoo Miami, Coral Castle and airboat rides into the Everglades. Plan on a car.
