Zoo Miami
Zoo Miami, officially the Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, lies in southern Miami-Dade County, southwest of central Miami. Founded in 1948 on Key Biscayne and moved here in 1980, it covers almost 750 acres with 4 miles of walkways and more than 2,000 animals of some 375 species, in habitats themed to regions such as Asia, the Amazon and Australia.
