Belfry of Namur

The Belfry of Namur is a round defensive tower built from 1388 as the Tour Saint-Jacques, part of the medieval town wall, and made the town belfry in 1746 after the church that held the civic bell was destroyed. Topped by a slate lantern and bulb, it belongs to the Belfries of Belgium and France on the UNESCO World Heritage List; inside is shown only on booked guided tours.
