Citadel of Namur

The Citadel of Namur is a fortress on the rocky spur above the confluence of the Sambre and the Meuse. First the castle of the counts of Namur, it was enlarged into a bastioned citadel between 1631 and 1675 with the Terra Nova section. Visitors walk the ramparts, tour about 450 metres of underground galleries and can ride up by cable car from the town since 2021.
