Tamozawa Imperial Villa

The Tamozawa Imperial Villa was built in 1899 as a summer residence for the future Emperor Taishō, combining an Edo-period townhouse, part of a Meiji-era residence and new wings. Its 106 rooms make it one of the largest wooden villas of its time; visitors walk through the rooms and the surrounding Japanese garden.
