Fremantle Prison

Fremantle Prison is a former prison in Fremantle, south-west of Perth, built of local limestone by convicts in the 1850s and in use until 1991. It is one of the Australian Convict Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Guided tours lead through the main cell block, the gatehouse and the yards, and one tour goes down into the water tunnels dug beneath the site.
