Freedom Elephant Reserve

Freedom Elephant Reserve is an elephant sanctuary in Chalong, in the south of Phuket island, set in a valley with a river. Founded by Matthew Rivers and Mamma Noi, it keeps retired working elephants on an observation-only basis: visitors watch and feed them on guided walks, with no riding, bathing or chains.
