Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong, officially Wat Chaiyathararam, is the largest Buddhist temple on Phuket island, in Chalong about 8 km south of Phuket Town. It honours the monks Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who led local people against the Chinese uprising of 1876 and treated the wounded with herbal medicine; their statues stand in the main hall.
