Phuket Old Town is the historic centre of Phuket Town, around Thalang, Phang Nga, Krabi, Dibuk and Yaowarat roads. Its streets are lined with Sino-Portuguese shophouses and mansions, many built in the tin-mining boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and now used as shops, cafés, hotels and museums.

religious building · Phuket Wat Chalong, officially Wat Chaiyathararam, is the largest Buddhist temple on Phuket island, in Chalong about 8 km south of Phuket Town. It honours the monks Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who led local people against the Chinese uprising of 1876 and treated the wounded with herbal medicine; their statues stand in the main hall.
