Place des Lices

Place des Lices, also called Place Carnot, is the main square of Saint-Tropez, a short walk south of the old harbour. Laid out in its present form in the early 19th century, its sandy ground is shaded by rows of plane trees and used for games of pétanque. A Provençal market is held here on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and cafés line its edges.
