Taichung Park

Taichung Park is the city's oldest park, laid out in 1903 under Japanese rule in the North District and listed as a city historic site in 1999. Around its artificial lake stand the twin-roofed Lake Pavilion, built in 1908 for the opening of the west-coast railway, arched bridges and the remains of the former Taichung Shinto shrine.
