The Florida Aquarium
The Florida Aquarium in Tampa's Channel District opened in 1995 under a shell-shaped glass dome. Its galleries follow water from Florida's springs and wetlands to a coral reef tank of about 1.9 million litres, with sharks, sea turtles, penguins and an outdoor splash area; it also runs a coral restoration programme.
