Ligny Tower

Ligny Tower is a square coastal watchtower on the rocks at the western tip of Trapani's old town. It was built in 1671–1672 on the orders of the Viceroy of Sicily, Claude Lamoral, Prince of Ligne, to guard against Barbary corsairs. Since 1983 it has housed the town's museum of prehistory and the sea.
