Santa Maria Maggiore

Santa Maria Maggiore is a Renaissance church in Trento, begun in 1520 for Prince-Bishop Bernardo Clesio by the architect Antonio Medaglia. Meetings of the last phase of the Council of Trent were held here in 1562–1563. Its facade is of pale red and white stone, and its 53-metre bell tower is the tallest in the city.
