Cobá
The ruins of a Maya city in the forest between lakes, about 45 km north-west of Tulum, the hub of the largest network of raised stone roads (sacbeob) in the Maya world. Its groups of temples, ball courts and carved stelae of the Late Classic lie kilometres apart; the Nohoch Mul pyramid rises 42 metres.
