L'Hemisfèric

L'Hemisfèric is the first building of Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences, designed by Santiago Calatrava and opened in April 1998. Shaped like an eye, it is about 110 m long, with aluminium shutters that lift like an eyelid over a shallow pool. Under the concrete dome inside, a large curved screen shows documentary films and planetarium programmes.
