Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial on the west side of the Tidal Basin honors the 32nd president of the United States. Designed by landscape architect Lawrence Halprin and dedicated in 1997, it traces his four terms in office through four open-air rooms of granite walls, waterfalls, carved quotations and bronze sculptures.
