Bibliotheca Alexandrina

A library and cultural centre on the Mediterranean shore of Alexandria, opened in 2002 in commemoration of the ancient Library of Alexandria. The tilted disc of its main building, designed by Snøhetta, covers a terraced reading room, and the complex also holds museums, art galleries, a planetarium and a conference centre.
