Mathematical Bridge

The Mathematical Bridge is a wooden footbridge over the River Cam that links two parts of Queens' College. Designed by William Etheridge and built by James Essex in 1749, it was rebuilt in 1866 and 1905 to the same design: it looks like an arch but is made only of straight timbers. The whole span can be seen from Silver Street Bridge.
