Mária Valéria Bridge

The Mária Valéria Bridge, designed by János Feketeházy, opened in 1895 to link Esztergom with Štúrovo across the Danube. Destroyed in 1919 and again by retreating German troops in 1944, it stood as a ruin for decades until reconstruction reopened the crossing on 11 October 2001, with European Union co-funding.
