Mount Misen

Mount Misen is the highest peak of Miyajima at 535 metres, covered in primeval forest that is part of the Itsukushima World Heritage Site. The Miyajima Ropeway climbs most of the way from Momijidani Park, and paths lead on past halls linked to the monk Kūkai to the summit rocks, with views over the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
