tourist attraction · Kiruna The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, about 17 km east of Kiruna, is a hotel rebuilt every winter since 1990 from snow and ice taken from the Torne River, with suites designed by invited artists, and it stands from December to April. A year-round part, Icehotel 365, keeps ice art suites and an ice bar cooled through the summer, and day visitors can walk through it.

Jukkasjärvi Church, in the village of Jukkasjärvi about 18 km east of Kiruna, is a red timber church built around 1607–1608 and rebuilt in 1726, the oldest church in the province of Lapland, with a free-standing bell tower from the 1740s. Inside are a carved teak altarpiece by Bror Hjorth from 1958 and an organ decorated with reindeer horn and Sami symbols.
