Old Ursuline Convent

The Old Ursuline Convent on Chartres Street was completed in 1752 for Ursuline nuns who came from France in 1727 to run a school and a hospital. It is among the oldest buildings in the Mississippi valley. A museum shows the nuns' history and the convent rooms, next to St. Mary's Church and a formal garden.
