    The Cámara de Comptos is a 13th-century stone house on Calle Ansoleaga in Pamplona's old town, the city's only surviving example of civil Gothic architecture. From 1524 to 1836 it housed the royal audit chamber of Navarre, where the kingdom's coins were also minted; the restored audit office returned in 1994, and visitors may enter its inner courtyard.

  • St Nicholas' Church

    St Nicholas' Church is a Gothic parish church in Pamplona's old town, founded in the 12th century as both a church and a stronghold of the San Nicolás borough. After a fire in 1222 it was rebuilt and consecrated in 1231; its crenellated medieval tower recalls that defensive role, and the interior holds a Baroque organ.

  • Museum of Navarre

    The Museum of Navarre occupies the former Hospital of Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia in Pamplona, a 16th-century building converted into a museum in 1956; the hospital church's facade stands beside the entrance. Its collections run from prehistory to the 20th century, including Roman mosaics, Romanesque capitals from the old cathedral and the ivory Leyre casket.

  • Plaza Consistorial

    The Plaza Consistorial is the square in Pamplona's old town in front of the City Hall, whose Baroque facade with statues and a clock gable dates from the 18th century. During the San Fermín festival the opening rocket, the chupinazo, is fired from the City Hall balcony on 6 July, and each morning's running of the bulls passes through the square.

  • Citadel of Pamplona

    The Citadel of Pamplona is a pentagonal bastioned fortress ordered by Philip II in 1571 and designed by the military engineer Giacomo Palearo, known as el Fratin; it was completed in 1645. Its five bastions, ditches and outworks now enclose a public park, and former military buildings such as the armoury and the powder magazine house exhibitions.

    Pamplona Cathedral is a Gothic church built mainly in the 15th century on the site of a Romanesque cathedral, with a Neoclassical west front designed by Ventura Rodríguez in 1783. Medieval kings of Navarre were crowned here, and the visit includes the Gothic cloister and the alabaster tomb of Charles III the Noble and Queen Eleanor.

    The Plaza de Toros de Pamplona is a bullring opened in 1922 to designs by the architect Francisco Urcola, with seats for about 19,700 spectators. It is the end point of the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival in July. Guided and audio-guided visits cover an exhibition on the encierro, the pens, the stables, the chapel and the ring.
