Christ Church

Christ Church is an Episcopal parish founded in 1695 in Old City; the present Georgian brick church was built between 1727 and 1744 and its steeple was added in 1754. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and other founders worshipped here, and its separate burial ground a few blocks west holds Franklin's grave.
