Old Quebec

Old Quebec is the historic centre of Quebec City, founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1608 on the St. Lawrence. The Upper Town on Cap Diamant, still enclosed by stone fortifications, and the Lower Town at the foot of the cliff, linked by stairs and a funicular, have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
