San Antonio Zoo
The San Antonio Zoo lies in Brackenridge Park north of downtown and grew from animals George W. Brackenridge placed on park land in 1914. On about 23 hectares it keeps more than 750 species, with areas such as Africa Live! and a Spanish Revival monkey house from the 1930s, and the narrow-gauge Zoo Train runs from the zoo through the park.
