Witte Museum
The Witte Museum on the edge of Brackenridge Park opened in 1926 and tells the story of Texas from prehistory to the present. Galleries cover dinosaurs, the rock art and peoples of the Lower Pecos canyonlands and Texas wildlife in dioramas, and the grounds include historic houses moved there in the 1940s, among them the home of José Francisco Ruiz.
