Davenport House
The Davenport House on Columbia Square is a Federal-style brick house built in 1820 by the master builder Isaiah Davenport. Its threatened demolition in 1955 led to the founding of the Historic Savannah Foundation, which has run it as a museum since 1963. Guided tours show the furnished rooms and tell of the family and the enslaved people who lived and worked there.
