Barone Fortress

Barone Fortress stands on Vidakuša hill above Šibenik. The townspeople built it in 58 days in 1646, during the Cretan War, and it is named after Baron Christoph Martin von Degenfeld, who led the city's defence against the Ottoman siege of 1647. Reopened in 2016 after restoration, it offers an augmented-reality tour of the city's past and a café terrace.
