Goat Church

The Goat Church is a Gothic church on Fő tér in Sopron, built by Franciscan friars from about 1280 and held by the Benedictines since 1802. Its name comes from the goat in the arms of the Gaissel family, who paid for the vault and the 47-metre tower around 1400. Hungarian diets and coronations were held in it in the 17th century.
