About St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg lies on Tampa Bay across from Tampa, with museums along its downtown waterfront and Gulf beaches nearby. The Dalí Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the St. Petersburg Museum of History line the waterfront, where the St. Pete Pier reaches about 400 metres into the bay. Downtown, the Imagine Museum shows studio glass and the Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement holds furniture and pottery of 1890 to 1930. To the south, Fort De Soto Park spreads over five islands near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge; Clearwater Beach is about 30 km north-west. A car helps for the beaches.
