Vasa Museum

The Vasa Museum on Djurgården houses the warship Vasa, which sank in Stockholm harbour on her maiden voyage in 1628 and was raised in 1961. The museum opened in 1990; the almost complete 17th-century ship stands in a hall several storeys high, surrounded by exhibitions on her construction, crew and salvage.
