Skansen

Skansen on Djurgården was opened in 1891 by Artur Hazelius as an open-air museum of rural Swedish life before industrialisation. Farmsteads, a church and town houses moved here from across Sweden stand along wooded paths, with staff in period dress, craft workshops and a zoo of Nordic animals such as elk, bears and wolves.
