Urbino Cathedral

Urbino Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption, was founded in 1021 and rebuilt from the 1480s at the wish of Federico da Montefeltro. After the earthquakes of 1781 and 1789 Camillo Morigia designed the white stone facade and Giuseppe Valadier rebuilt the interior and dome in neoclassical style. Inside are paintings by Federico Barocci, among them the Martyrdom of St Sebastian.
