Eger Castle

Eger Castle sits on a rocky hill above the old town, built after the Mongol invasion of 1241; it withstood a much larger Ottoman army during the 1552 siege. Visitors walk the bastions and casemates and visit the Dobó István Castle Museum, which covers the site's military history.
