Exploration Museum

The Exploration Museum in Húsavík covers the history of human exploration, from Viking voyages and polar expeditions to space flight. It grew out of research into the Apollo astronauts who trained in the lava fields near Húsavík in 1965 and 1967, and it shows photographs, documents and equipment linked to those visits.
