Húsavík Whale Museum

The Húsavík Whale Museum occupies the town's former harbourside slaughterhouse, built in 1931 and opened as a museum in 2002. On two floors it presents the whales of the North Atlantic, their ecology, strandings and the history of whaling and whale watching in Iceland, with 13 real whale skeletons on display.
