Sinaia Monastery is an Orthodox monastery founded in 1695 by Mihail Cantacuzino and named after St Catherine's Monastery on Mount Sinai; the town of Sinaia later took its name from it. Each of its two courtyards holds a church: the Old Church of 1695 and the Great Church, completed in 1846. It is a working monastery with daily services.

Peleș Castle is the former summer residence of King Carol I, built in the Carpathian foothills above Sinaia between 1873 and 1914 in a Neo-Renaissance style with German half-timbering, and supplied with electricity from its own power plant. Its ground and first floors show carved wood, stained glass, arms and armour and the royal collections.

Pelișor Castle is a smaller royal residence on the Peleș estate in Sinaia, built between 1899 and 1902 for the future King Ferdinand and Queen Marie to designs by Karel Liman. Its interiors, shaped largely by Queen Marie, combine Art Nouveau with Byzantine and Celtic motifs; visitors see the oak-panelled hall of honour, the chapel and the Golden Room.

Cantacuzino Castle stands near Sinaia, in Bușteni, and was completed in 1911 in the Neo-Romanian style by the architect Grigore Cerchez for Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, twice prime minister of Romania. Its rooms have carved stone, Murano stained glass, Venetian wall paintings and a ballroom frieze of the family's ancestors with a heraldic collection.
