Golden Gate

The Golden Gate is the main northern gate of Diocletian's Palace, built around 305 at the end of the road to Salona. Its facade has niches and a blind arcade of seven arches; walled up in the Middle Ages, it was reopened in 1857 and restored in 2012–2015. It leads from the park outside the walls into the old town, beside the Grgur Ninski statue.
