    The Musée Jenisch is the fine arts museum of Vevey, opened in 1897 in a neoclassical building by Louis Maillard and Robert Convert, funded by a bequest from Fanny Jenisch. It holds the Cabinet cantonal des estampes, a large collection of prints and drawings, and the collection of the Oskar Kokoschka Foundation, shown in changing exhibitions.

  • Alimentarium

    The Alimentarium is a museum about food and nutrition on the Vevey lakefront, run by a foundation funded by Nestlé. It opened in 1985 in the neoclassical building that served as Nestlé's first administrative centre from 1921, and was renovated in 2016. The giant fork standing in the lake opposite belongs to the museum.

  • Chaplin's World

    Chaplin's World is a museum about Charlie Chaplin at the Manoir de Ban in Corsier-sur-Vevey, the house where he lived with his family from 1953 until his death in 1977. Opened in 2016, it combines the furnished rooms of the manor and its park with a studio building recreating scenes from his films with wax figures made with the Musée Grévin.

  • The Fork

    The Fork

    The Fork is an eight-metre stainless steel fork standing in Lake Geneva just off the Vevey quay, in front of the Alimentarium. The Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Zaugg made it in 1995 for the museum's tenth anniversary; it was removed in 1996 and put back about ten years later after a public petition. It is seen from the lakeside promenade.

  • Freddie Mercury Statue

    Freddie Mercury Statue

    This three-metre bronze statue of Queen singer Freddie Mercury stands on the lakeside promenade at Place du Marché in Montreux, facing Lake Geneva. Made by the Czech sculptor Irena Sedlecká, it was unveiled in 1996 and shows Mercury with his right fist raised and a microphone stand in his left hand.

  • Queen: The Studio Experience

    Queen: The Studio Experience occupies the former Mountain Studios in the Casino Barrière in Montreux, where Queen recorded seven albums. The Mercury Phoenix Trust opened it in 2013. Visitors see the preserved control room, with a replica mixing desk for remixing Queen songs, as well as handwritten lyrics, costumes and instruments.

  • Chillon Castle

    Chillon Castle stands on a rock island in Lake Geneva between Montreux and Villeneuve. Built up by the Counts of Savoy, it was held by Bern from 1536 to 1798 and now belongs to the canton of Vaud. Visitors walk through its courtyards, great halls, chapel and the vaulted underground prison described by Lord Byron.

  • Fort de Chillon

    Fort de Chillon is an artillery fortress hidden in the rock opposite Chillon Castle, built from 1941 as the western gateway to the Swiss National Redoubt. The army used it until it was disarmed in 1995. Today it is a museum where visitors explore about 2,000 m² of tunnels, gun positions, dormitories, an infirmary and the engine room.

  • Swiss Vapeur Parc

    Swiss Vapeur Parc is a miniature railway park in Le Bouveret on the shore of Lake Geneva, opened in 1989. Small steam and petrol locomotives pull passenger trains along tracks that wind past scale models of Swiss buildings, bridges and mountain railways, and visitors ride the trains themselves.

  • Rochers de Naye

    Rochers de Naye is a 2,042 m mountain above Montreux. A cogwheel railway climbs from Montreux via Glion and Caux to the summit station at 1,968 m, from where a short path leads to the top with a view over Lake Geneva and the Alps. Near the station are an alpine restaurant and enclosures with marmots from around the world.
