The Cloth Hall on the market square of Ypres was built between about 1200 and 1304 as the market and warehouse of the city's cloth trade, and its belfry rises 70 metres. Destroyed by shellfire in the First World War, it was reconstructed between 1933 and 1967 and now houses the In Flanders Fields Museum on the war in the West Flanders front region.

St Martin's Cathedral is a Gothic church in Ypres, begun in 1230 and completed in 1370, and the seat of the diocese of Ypres from 1561 to 1801. Left in ruins in the First World War, it was rebuilt to the original plans between 1922 and 1930 with a taller spire; its tower is 102 metres high, and the church holds the tomb of Bishop Cornelius Jansen.

The Menin Gate is a memorial at the eastern exit of Ypres to the British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in the Ypres Salient in the First World War and have no known grave. Designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield and unveiled in 1927, its Hall of Memory carries more than 54,000 names, and the Last Post is sounded under its arch every evening at 20:00.

Essex Farm Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery beside the Ypres canal near Boezinge, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield. It holds 1,204 First World War dead next to the site of a Canadian dressing station, where John McCrae is reported to have written the poem "In Flanders Fields" in May 1915; a monument there marks it.

Bellewaerde is a theme park and animal park near Zillebeke, in the municipality of Ypres, on ground fought over in the First World War Battle of Bellewaarde. It opened in 1954 as a zoo and safari park and added rides from the early 1980s, including Europe's first Boomerang roller coaster in 1984. Lions and other animals live in themed zones across its 54 hectares.

Indoor subtropical water park in Zillebeke, Ypres, opened in July 2019 on the former car park of the Bellewaerde theme park. Its pools cover about 3,000 m² and include the 117-metre Aquaventure raft slide, the twin Splash Clash slides and play areas for young children built around a pirate galleon.
