The Gubałówka funicular, run by Polskie Koleje Linowe, climbs from the centre of Zakopane to the ridge of Gubałówka at 1,120 m. Opened in 1938 and rebuilt in 2001 with new cars and stations, it runs on a single track with a passing loop halfway up. From the upper station there are views across the town to the Tatra Mountains.

The Tatra Museum was founded in 1889, and its main building on Krupówki in Zakopane was designed by Stanisław Witkiewicz and Franciszek Mączyński and built between 1913 and 1922. Reopened after restoration in 2022, it presents the history, highland folk culture and nature of Zakopane, the Tatras and Podhale, with costumes, instruments and mountain animals.

Villa Koliba, built in 1892–93 by local carpenters to a design by Stanisław Witkiewicz for the collector Zygmunt Gnatowski, was the first house in the Zakopane style, which drew on the wooden building of the Podhale highlanders. Since 1993 it has housed the Tatra Museum's Museum of Zakopane Style, with furnished period rooms and Gnatowski's folk collection.

tourist attraction · Zakopane The cable car from Kuźnice in Zakopane to Kasprowy Wierch (1,987 m) opened in 1936 as the first of its kind in Poland. It runs in two sections via Myślenickie Turnie, climbing 936 m over about 4.3 km, and its cabins carry up to 60 people since a rebuild completed in 2007. The whole line lies within the Tatra National Park.
