Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art

Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art occupies a converted flour mill, in use from 1950 to 1984, on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, facing Newcastle's Quayside. Opened in July 2002 to a design by Dominic Williams of Ellis Williams Architects, it shows changing exhibitions with no permanent collection and has viewing platforms over the river.
