Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes

The Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes is a Franciscan monastery founded by the Catholic Monarchs to mark the Battle of Toro of 1476 and built from 1477 to 1504 to plans by Juan Guas. Its Isabelline Gothic church and two-storey cloister are open to visitors, and chains of freed Christian captives hang on its walls.
